Pastor Clarence Sloan was called by God at a very early age. He remembers at age twelve, hearing God call his name. Pastor Clarence asked “God why did you call my name?” but he didn’t get an immediate response. As he grew older he tried to hide from the voice of God, but he continued to hear it again and again. In 1979, he gave his life to Christ becoming a born again Christian. Shortly thereafter, he joined “The Tabernacle of Prayer for all People Church”, where he served God faithfully. He took several Bible classes and he also enrolled into the Tabernacle Evangelistic program along with his wife. Over the years, Pastor Clarence traveled and resided abroad in various countries. During that time, he continued to study the Word of God and shared his learning with others. His sole effort was and is today, to lead lives to Christ through God’s Word. In 2001, he felt led to join “The Greater Shiloh Temple Apostolic Miracle Center.” He and his wife both joined there and immediately started to work to help the church and lead souls to Christ. In 2002, both Pastor Clarence and his wife were ordained by Dr. Bishop George J. Perry. Pastor Clarence continued to work, teach and preach at Greater Shiloh until May 2005. It was at this time, he felt that God was now leading him to start “The Word Church and Restoration Center, Inc.” Dr. Perry gave his blessings and continued support as an honorary overseer along with Reverend Larry Hooks of the Oakey Plain Baptist Church. The Word Church and Restoration Center (TWCRC) was planted on June 5, 2005 in Virginia Beach, VA. Pastor Clarence is the senior pastor of the church along side with his loving wife of over 40 years. He continues in this great ministry as a warrior and servant of God whose sole intent is to draw souls to the living well of life – Jesus Christ, his personal Lord and Savior. Pastor Clarence continues his Biblical studies. He has graduated with a Doctor of Ministry Degree. He believes that one should always study the word of God, and to seek God for further revelation.
